Project Support Officer (Social Media)

"Social media specialist" for the Cybersafety and Reputation Management team in Learning Technologies, my role was to lead proactive social media strategy and promote savvy, safe and happy use of social media platforms. This helps schools and their communities keep up with the various social challenges caused by web use.

KEY: Drafting publications, knowledge-based articles, blogs and journal articles; conducting key research for executive level developments. Presented to over 2,800 students and 300 teachers on social media and optimal digital reputation management.

The Fetch increases discoverability and accessibility of content, meaning readers can spend less time and attention on keeping up with what's happening.

Women in Technology

Administration Officer, Acting Operations Manager

WiT is the industry peak body for women working and studying in the technology industries across Queensland aiming to promote their achievements via relevant events, programs, awards and networks that also provide opportunities for WiT members to grow and develop their skills.

The role included event management, membership database maintenance and operational administration. I finished as Administration Officer on August 17th to focus on full-time study, and re-joined the team as Acting Operations Manager in late October, which I took on in between university semesters.

KEY: I increased the WiT membership base by 70%.

Critical Mass proposes the use of social media such as blogging, tweeting and Facebook for in-depth and rich cultural conversations about the arts from a broad group of contributors.

Volunteer position for Twestival 2009, an international Twitter event raising $5,000 for Charity:Water. As well as general event management, I was responsible for sponsorship and operations for the Brisbane event which was held on February 12th. Twestival Local was also planned and held on 11th September 2009, of which I lead the team and $4,800 or so was raised.

Volunteer position with my local youth group and council where I wrote newspaper articles on projects aimed at funding efforts to build a skate park, went on radio to discuss the Listen Up! Youth Festival 2001 and attended weekly council meetings.

KEY: First real event management and marketing role. The skate park was built and is a success in the community to this today.
