Training Manager, Cavalier Connect Fundraising Phonathon

As the Training Manager, I worked directly with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, the Office of Engagement and Annual Giving, and other Cavalier Connect supervisors to plan, implement, and evaluate training programs to develop student fundraisers. In this role, I worked with the stakeholders of the program to develop and implement a reinvigorated incentives program to improve the effectiveness of student fundraisers. I worked to develop exciting, interactive training programs that built the skills of both new and current fundraisers. In addition to my training duties, I assisted in the administration of the Cavalier Connect Student Phonathon Fundraising program through the supervision, evaluation, and support of callers, ensuring that gifts of $25 to $1500+ were processed in an orderly fashion. Each year, students at Cavalier Connect raise over $1 million for the University’s annual giving programs.

Resident Advisor

The Resident Advisor is directly responsible to the Senior Resident for his/her association and is generally responsible for working with the Resident Staff as a whole to enhance the intellectual, social, and cultural experience of students at the University. The Resident Advisor is responsible for articulating to his/her residents the philosophy and the policies of Housing and Residence Life and the University and also for representing the needs of the students to the administration. The Resident Advisor's effectiveness is dependent upon the relationship he/she establishes with the residents. This adult-to-adult, non-paternal relationship centers around the Resident Advisor's sincere desire to develop a residence community that fosters personal and academic growth and eases the problems of adjustment to University life. In fulfilling their responsibilities, the Resident Advisors look to the Senior Resident who, along with the Chairs and Area Coordinators, provide supervision, advice, and overall coordination.
