Ride my career roller coaster (start at the bottom of this page), and you'll see: it's been a wild one. Nothing could have prepared me better for what I'm doing today: figuring out a way to improve economic outcomes for young people who experience foster care. Impact Stars

#1 Business & Marketing Strategy Coaching: I help businesses make more money. I bring in new leads for my clients or I turn existing customers into rabid fans. Sometimes both.

I'm channel-agnostic. I recommend using whatever it takes to get the result.

I use tools like Net Promoter Score on the customer success side, and I pay attention to experts like Lincoln Murphy. Everything I do is driven by an over-arching strategy. When you combine creativity (think purple cow: Seth Godin) and data-informed permission marketing (again think Seth Godin), you have what one of my clients calls, "winner, winner, chicken dinner." I'm very picky about the clients I take on - why? See #2. My goal this year is to productize my services so I have more time to work on #hotskillspaybills.

#2 #hotskillspaybills: When I started researching homelessness in 2013, I met young people in shelters or on the streets. Many of them had all been through foster care. The statistics are appalling: high unemployment, joblessness, and incarceration. What will drastically change those outcomes? I had absolutely no idea. #hotskillspaysbills is a hypothesis I constructed based on a year's worth of interviews and research: if young people learn one hot skill that pays the bills and show 6 months of consistent income, they are less likely to end up homeless or income insecure. More as I make progress. I spend a lot of time reading issue briefs like this one:
and in May I will run my second pilot to learn as much as I can.
