Innovation Park at Notre Dame
April 2008 — Present
In my role as Facility Manager, it’s my job to make sure the building functions properly and that clients’ basic needs are met. I am responsible for all facility issues including operations and maintenance for 55,000 sq. ft. of office space, wet labs, a shared analytical lab with $750,000 worth of lab equipment, common collaborative spaces with over $500,000 worth of technology throughout the building and conference rooms. Meeting client's needs requires strategic thinking, creativity and flexibility to use our resources to help accelerate their business development.
I am also responsible for setting a dynamic and welcoming tone for our facility through staffing choices, events and communications (newsletters, electronic display media, social media). Throughout the year, I plan, execute and promote events to clients, alumni, members of the local community and specialty groups to build collaboration and camaraderie among all constituents.
Communication - internal, external, traditional and electronic are responsibilities recently added to my role. With client focused marketing, I develop ways to effectively communicate successes, milestones and other client achievements to key constituents through internal media displays, social media, website updates and direct electronic communications like our Year in Review. I maintain our electronic asset files and coordinate all necessary additions (photos, articles, etc.) to keep our audience up to date. Discovering new electronic tools that improve our client experience and deliver our message simply and effectively to the right audience is a key component to this responsibility, and one I thoroughly enjoy!
Getting to know the clients and their companies is inspiring and I love to help them connect with each other. I aim to simplify their operational needs so they can focus on their early stage milestones and offer lean operational habits.
