Staff Writer

Create content for the newly-re-branded urban lifestyle guide, including stories, interviews, photos and graphics. My area of focus is "District Fit," the magazine's new health and fitness lifestyle section. The section highlights local fitness deals, interviews with local fitness enthusiasts, new workout trends both locally and nationally, and topics of interest related to exercise and nutrition.

Additionally, I contribute stories as needed to the online magazine covering local events, special deals and other trends in the D.C. metro area.

Howard University

Strategic Communications Specialist

Reporting to Howard University President Sidney A. Ribeau, I create and maintain a communication and social media interface with emphasis on connecting the Office of the President with students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University. I have developed a comprehensive social media strategy that increases the visibility of the mission and institutional directives of the Office of the President, with a focus on brand development and web traffic.

I serve as content manager for the blog and social media accounts of President Ribeau, editing and contributing written content, photos and graphics, and monitoring and analyzing corresponding data. This blog is the first of its kind for Howard University, as Dr. Ribeau is the first president in the university’s history to personally venture into social media communications. Additional special projects are also assigned to me, including event coverage, project management, event planning and speech edits.
