Galley Homewares Ltd

Admin and finance director

Part of Abdoolally Ebrahim Group.
I was involved in the taking over of Galley Homewares Ltd which had gone into receivership before the management decided to buy them out from the receivers.
The company had another entity Ensee Housewares Ltd which was involved in distribution of housewares to independent cook shops while Galley was mainly focused on distributing to multiples.
I was involved in merging the 2 companies and moving the operations of Galley from Basingstoke to London.

Managed the business independently, with responsibility for P&l.
I was also involved with the sales and marketing director in new product and catalogue development.

After living in london for 6 years the company wanted me to move to Hong Kong to take over there commodities business as CEO. I moved to Hong Kong at the end of 2006.


Craster Enterprises (Myanmar) Ltd


Craster was part of Abdoolally Ebrahim Group. The group has been established since 1842 in Hong Kong and has been involved in trading of commodities, textiles raw material, housewares and ship owning, chartering and ship management.
I Was appointed as management trainee and over the years was promoted to General Manager.
We were involved from setting up of this company in 1990 in Myanmar as a foreign company and went on to be among the top 3 pulses and beans exporter from Myanmar.
My responsibilities included complete management of the office , handling the finance department, HR department, and traders and QC team . I was responsible for the P&L of the business.
As I wanted to move out of Myanmar, the company offered a position as finance and admin director to run there housewares distribution business in UK in 2001.
