Digital Engagement Manager

UMI (Urban Ministries, Inc.) is the largest independent, African American-owned and-operated Christian media company. We publish Christian education resources, including Bible studies, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curriculum, books, movies, and websites designed for African American churches and individuals seeking a Christ-centered perspective on faith and life issues.

• Responsible for the overall development and direction of UMI Customer/Ministry Outreach Program which involves Christian Education, marketing, and social media platforms while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

• Directly responsible for developing and executing corporate relationship strategies to facilitate engagement with UMIs key Christian media audiences.

• Builds communities within targeted segments of the industry and drive topic-centric programs and events relevant to Christian publications and media.

• Works with the Vice President of Marketing and leads the UMI campaign planning and execution.

• Works closely with editorial, product management, technology and creative to ensure that the various teams are clear about campaign requirements, goals and KPIs.

• Develops requirements for tech, provides direction to designers.

Black Girls CODE has set out to prove to the world that girls of every color have the skills to become the programmers of tomorrow. By promoting classes and programs, the organization hopes to grow the number of women of color working in technology and give underprivileged girls a chance to become the masters of their technological worlds.

• Work with the Chapter Leads and BGCHQ to support both student recruitment and outreach
• Host events for parents, students and community affairs
• Work collaboratively with BGCHQ Community Marketing Manager, Media Lead
• Develop and facilitated communications to local schools and youth-serving organizations
• Collaborate with BGCHQ Community Marketing Manager on local emails, news blast, blog posts
• Create custom media messages to engage local community
• Assist in execution of outreach and student recruitment plan
• Support chapter leaders by creating new resources, preparing reports
• Manage chapter’s database of contacts (Schools, Community leaders, Media, etc.)
• Gained proficiency win Youth engagement, digital and email marketing, and social media
