Responsible for recruiting and advising students who are well qualified to enter the PHSC program at USG. This requires an understanding of the courses from community colleges and universities that satisfy the requirements for admission and an ability to carefully review transcripts.

Represents the PHSC program at selected recruitment events at community colleges and other venues throughout the year and builds excellent working relationships with community college counselors.

Develops a database of prospective students and maintains ongoing communication throughout the application process.

Participates in academic advising of current students, including meticulously maintaining student records, in collaboration with the Assistant Director and Lecturer/Advisor.

Coordinating logistics for orientation workshops and activities and processing applications, including those in a program known as the USG Terp Transfer Partnership, which enables qualified students at Montgomery College to have guaranteed admission to the PHSC program at USG.

Works closely with the Director of the Center of Academic Success and Achievement located in the School of Public Health on the University of Maryland College Park campus and with the Office of Student Services on the USG campus to resolve issues related to advising, scholarships, and financial aid.

Keeps a database on alumni and assist with social media.

Residential Relief Counselor

Supervises up to twelve adolescent female residents of the group home

Supervises resident interactions and facilitate their participation in the program schedule, group activities, and scheduled appointments

Leads off-site activities

Provides group and individual counseling when scheduled and as needed

Provides crisis intervention, assess emergency and medical situations and determine appropriate action

Household management such as participating in making meals, cleaning, etc., ensuring safety and security of Aurora House facility and residents at all hours

Administers medication according to directions

Observes, records and evaluates client behavior and progress

Performs related tasks as required.
