When he first began with Lazard, Moe Ibrahim was working in the IT department, but he soon found himself moving to the distressed debt group wherebe worked as a distressed debt analyst. In 1999, he moved to Singapore to establish Lazard's Asian Distressed Debt Business, which he headed for several years.

Moe breathed new life into the brand, extensively refurbished and renovated the resort, and helped establish a ferry service with a direct route to Singapore.
