Global Entrepreneurship Program-Assistant Coordinator

• Led GEP Turkey’s implementation of international program to foster entrepreneurship as joint effort between the US Department of State, the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce (TOBB) and the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV).
• Co-coordinated events and meetings bringing together over 3,000 participants including entrepreneurs, private sector representatives, government ministries, international venture capitalists and angel investors.
• Created activities to increase participation from the university community throughout Turkey.
• Redeveloped organization’s website content resulting in five new, sector-specific pages.

Project Developer

• Co-developed computer game for children suffering from cancer to boost their morale by fighting and killing virtual cancer cells in the game environment.
• Co-managed project from idea stage to 50% complete in five months in METUTECH-ATOM, Turkey’s first and only pre-incubation center focusing on animation and game development.
• Obtained media coverage for this social responsibility project from Aktüel Science Magazine, television, and and news outlets.

• Created five new distribution locations in Middle East Technical University by direct engagement with retail, restaurant, and pub operators.
• Created innovative marketing events, such as distributing product to students during final exams through dorm windows in a five story building by using a bucket lift (crane).

IEEE METU Student Branch

University-Industry Collaboration Project Group Co-Coordinator

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation for the benefit of humanity.
During my contributions as an Assistant Coordinator at University - Industry Collaboration Project Group and Administrative Board Member;

•Organized weekly workshops related to Research and Development, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Science Parks for approximately 50 members.
•Negotiated and secured award funding event for entrepreneurs with the Turkish Ministry of Trade and Industry. The event attended by Minister of Trade and Industry, Nihat Ergün.
•Represented “EBAN Congress 2010” to ~250 potential participant companies and secured registrations from ~95% of them. Event was organized by Metutechnopolis and Metutech Business Angels Network, as part of Turkey’s first European Business Angels Network experience.
•Represented and marketed “New Ideas New Businesses” Business Plan Contest (2009-2011) by generating press and media coverage of Turkey’s first technological business idea contest.
•“Techno Entrepreneurship Summit” - Co Coordinator (2009), Asst Coordinator (2008). Attended by over 200 people from ~10 universities.

• Coordinated Turkey's one of very first biggest event related to entrepreneurship ecosystem namely European Business Angels Network 2010 Congress.
