Sai Foods

Co Owner

Sai Foods was a dry foods and utilities store that I had started along with my mother who was the finance of the project in 2010 as a part of my entrepreneurship goals. The idea was to get together small time home producers and open the market to authentic Indian snacks which are not commercially prepared and thereby are fresh and hygienic.

I was managing the sale of the goods, calculating pricing of goods, forecasting demand, inventory management of highly perishable goods and managing the utility staff.

Due to the extremely perishable nature and unfavourable location for footfall, the entire barely reached breakeven and was stagnant. It was not possible to carry on further with other commitments and had to be shut down in a year with no profits no loss.

However, it gave an immense insight on the dynamics of running a small entity and inspired my Undergraduate thesis and admission to Graduate Management school.
