Event Personnel Supervisor

At Acorn we were a food and facilities provider for major events.
As the Event Personnel Supervisor-
It was my duty to oversee all event and post event personnel scheduled for each specific event, and make sure all of the appropriate work was being done by the ones hired to do it. My job was to delegate work, inspect tasks upon completion and see to it that all employees under my supervision were making their appropriate contributions to the company according to their individual growth within Acorn. Although my title was supervisor my roll was more of an assistant GM. I also did the scheduling and handled the time sheets for payroll for all of the guys whom I was supervising. I could do anything required of me because I dedicate myself to my work.
My inability to move up within Acorn is why I chose to pursue a higher education.

Corrugator Operator

I assumed various rolls on the corrugator starting with the dry end stacker (quality inspection of the finished board) to the double backer (secondary glue unit), and running the single facer; including double wall. The company was bought out by International Paper and the two plants were combined. Therefore there was some downsizing and my job was taken over by somebody with a bit more seniority.

Five Color Printing Press Operator

My duties here included mixing ink, burning imaging plates and running off the customers orders. Unfortunately due to an economic downfall, and the advancement of modern day laser printing the place closed down.

Pursuing Bachelors, Applied Science In Business Administration

After reaching my ceiling at Acorn due to my lack of a degree. I realized that I did not want to be stagnant in the business world, but at the same time I had no degree to qualify me while climbing the corporate ladder. So I chose to pursue a higher level of education. I am majoring in business administration because I feel with this degree I can rise to my absolute full potential while continuing to pursue my education. It should help me through doors that would've never been otherwise possible. I am completely confident that I will be fully capable of contributing my all and becoming an asset to the company for whom I work, once given the opportunity to do so.
