Received 15 utility and design patents for innovative product designs featuring a multitude of manufacturing methods such as injection molding, vacuum forming, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining.
Designed and patented a unique construction technique consisting of the marriage of a thermoformed housing with an aluminized molded composite shell; a combination that produced lightweight speaker and plenum vault enclosures capable of surpassing harsh UL 2043 burn testing while staying under weight restrictions that require costly OSHPD engineering certifications.
Leveraged extensive manufacturing experience to convince Director of Acoustic Development to start product assembly at Extron Raleigh, a site originally intended only for research and development, sales, and customer training. Handled all facets of manufacturing startup from location of raw material suppliers, capital equipment justifications and tooling design, to equipment installation, preparing assembly documentation and associate training.
Coordinated a mix of Asian and domestic supplier sourcing to build cost effective, high quality products with annual sales of over one million dollars.
Responsible for product compliance with the regulations of governing bodies such as UL, CE, ASTM, NFPA, Intertek and the green initiatives of RoHS and REACH.
