Content Librarian

World Wide Technology

As a content librarian for WWT, I am the sole editor in a sea of engineers. I enjoy working hard to play hard (and drinking copious amounts of coffee in between).

World Wide Technology, Inc.

Content/Intellectual Property Librarian

My goal at WWT is to help establish a consistent and professional brand with customers. To accomplish my goal, I developed a style guide and templates for practice teams to use when generating/updating content. I have also started building an intellectual property knowledge base and am acting technical editor for teams creating final deliverables.

Geotechnology, Inc.

Project Administrator

Geotechnology was my first experience with engineering. Being the only person with an English degree certainly worked to my advantage. I honed my skills as technical editor and accomplished moving from paper reporting to implementing a paperless information management system.

University of Missouri Press

Intern in Book Publishing

Almost out of the gate and I landed a dream job. I had the opportunity to wear many hats and gained experience in indexing, copyediting and proofreading. I also learned the importance of following up: after applying with no response, I inquired about the position. My interest in working for the Press prompted the editor to finalize her decision.

University of Missouri - Columbia

Bachelor's, English

After being ill for a semester in high school, college didn't seem like an option. With hard work and determination, I graduated on time and was accepted to the University of Missouri. I didn't have a plan, but literature had always been my passion and my English degree has opened up doors to me that I didn't know existed.

The Prominence of Gender in Modern Society (2011)

In a course called Human Sexuality Across the Life Span, I had the opportunity to work with a group of women to create a video discussing and portraying perceptions of gender.
