Engineering Project Coordinator
April 2014 — Present
JAMCo, Inc. (Johnson Architectural Metal Company) is a glass and aluminum curtain wall company. As a subcontractor, we design, engineer, fabricate and install the curtain wall systems on commercial high rise buildings. Established in 1981, JAMCo has completed various projects throughout the Southeast and, currently, has several taking place in Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.
I work within the engineering department as the project coordinator. I help the department maintain constant contact between our fabrication shops, the project managers and field superintendents, and our other offsite engineers and related personnel. I use AutoCAD and other related software on a daily basis to handle design and fabrication drawings. I correspond with our shop to ensure that all of our fabrication drawings arrive to be fabricated. I oversee this process for up to 10 separate jobs at one time. I also prepare and manage backup copies for every piece of fabrication that is sent out to the shop to be fabricated for each job. I have assisted in drawing project shop drawings, fabrication drawings and aiding the engineers and engineering manager with necessary drafting revisions using AutoCad.
