Administrative Coordinator

Provides coordination, administrative, and academic support to the Director and Associate Director of the Film & Media Studies Program.

I have increased the JHU FMS social media presence exponentially. On Facebook alone, our exposure has increased by 540% since 2011 and I approach our website and weekly emails with the same passion. I closely monitor our audience engagement and keep benchmark stats on our progress on platforms such as Twitter (@JHUFilmandMedia) and Vimeo.

Some specific duties I perform are:
- Prepare and present budgets to Program Director and Deans of the University.
- Coordinate scheduling of all courses and meetings for the Program.
- Manage content on the Program’s website, social media platforms, and weekly emails blasts to students, alumni, and parents.
- Assist the Director in planning and promoting events such as alumni gatherings, screenings, lectures, and workshops.
- Respond to requests from faculty, prospective students, current students, etc. for program information and answer questions via email or postal mail.
- Coordinate visits of prospective students, their meetings with faculty, and picking up program and course materials.
- Hire, train, and supervise approximately 12 student employees throughout the academic year.
- Guide student workers in following the Program’s social media policy.

The Federal Hill Parlor Series is dedicated to bringing quality music into the actual homes of this prized neighborhood. Each concert is hosted by a resident of the community who has an interest in fostering fellowship and is committed to increasing the presence and caliber of the arts in Baltimore City. Hosts choose the date and time of the recital, and if they wish to become further involved in the artistic process, may also participate in choosing the musical program.

The Federal Hill Parlor Series seeks to illuminate vocal repertoire from the Victorian Era to Modern composition, German Lieder to Spanish Folksong, Early Music to Musical Theatre and beyond...all in an intimate setting that makes the music accessible and inspiring.

An overview of regular duties:
- Develop strategy for presenting classical, avant garde, and world music performances in an urban environment and implementing events.
- Write press releases, update calendar listings, coordinate press events with local journalists.
- Cultivating relationships with past and future media outlets.
- Create content for the website, programs, and regular email blasts ensuring that all information is current and accurate.
- Generate and evaluate targeted audience marketing especially across social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, Foursquare, and more.
- Fundraise for future events and foster a culture of patronage around the Series.

Southern Arts Federation

Program Assistant

As an intern for Southern Arts Federation, I actively participated in the daily activities of one of the five regional arts organizations in the U.S. I worked extensively on the Performing Arts Exchange (September 2006 in Baltimore, MD) in which I vetted performing acts and planned schedules for multiple venues. PAE is the primary marketplace and forum for performing arts presenting and touring – artists and work, ideas, learning and information – in the eastern US. The purpose is to connect artists with audiences by fostering excellence in all aspects of presenting and touring the performing arts.
I also assisted on the Southern Circuit filmmakers touring program by planning travel itineraries, booking hotels and car rentals, preparing high-quality press kits customized for each tour stop, and other marketing and events duties.
