Direct Selling Association

New York, NY

I'm a New York native and communications specialist. A digital strategist by day, Lean In DC leader by night, and freelance writer in the hours in between. I have a background in politics and a passion for equality. I'm a process-driven project manager who thrives on collaboration.

Leadership is not bullying and leadership is not aggression. Leadership is the expectation that you can use your voice for good. That you can make the world a better place. -Sheryl Sandberg

University of Miami

Bachelor of Arts, Theatre Arts

I majored in Theatre Arts the University of Miami. My emphasis was on musical theatre performance. I spent weeks working on technical vocal exercises, rehearsed scenes late into the night, and poured my heart into learning songs and understanding characters. I learned how to commit to a creative process and see it through to fruition, and then I learned how to market and brand myself. One of the most valuable classes I took was Senior Auditioning. We wrote branding statements, talked seriously about building our personal brands, and understood how to discern which opportunities fit our brand and which didn't.

Direct Selling Association

Digital Communications Specialist

I recently developed and launched a new monthly newsletter, DSADigest, to better inform and education the Association's members. I set a mission for the newsletter and goals for contributions from various departments. Through project managing DSADigest each month I've built stronger working relationships across departments and shown my colleagues the power of using email analytics to adjust and improve our work product.

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

Northeast Finance Assistant

Kathy Hochul for Congress

Finance Assistant

I worked on a small team that raised over $3million during the 2012 election cycle. I built relationships with mid-level donors and local activists on the ground and collaborated with the finance director and field teams to mobilize donors and voters. I staffed the Congresswoman at fundraisers meet and greets, and during calltime, where I was able to learn her voice and translate it into the direct marketing emails and hard mailers that I wrote. I have never worked longer hours or under such stressful conditions and it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Campaign life and the work-non-stop-'til-Election-Day mode taught me to stick to deadlines and find the most efficient ways to get things done.
