Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine

Lead Bartender & Trainer

Roy’s is a very unique fine dining experience. As a rare four-star restaurant in the Chandler area, they provide superior service combined with unbelievably fresh, well made, and flavorful Pacific Rim, Asian, and European fusion cuisine.

•When I first started at this company over eight years ago, I had very little understanding of wine, spirits, beer, food, and culinary techniques. Paired with my desire to be a professional at whatever I do, my ability to learn quickly, proactively, and confidently has turned me in to the “go to” expert at my restaurant in industry knowledge.

•Be the voice of the restaurant and the brand, and represent the brand and ideals of the company, by ways of thinking and acting quickly to promote new relationships and sales, as well as acting with tact and grace when needing to resolve customer issues.

•Working cooperatively with other trainers, managers, and team members to identify ongoing training and support needs and requirements.

•Facilitate the training and development of new team members and current staff.

•Produce consistently high sales through incomparable customer service and product knowledge in the areas of wine, liquor, spirits, beer, and food.

•Constant research of current trends, methods, and techniques within the industry to maintain the current standards of my restaurant and our guests.

•Participate in cross-functional teamwork with management and chef team by assisting with the development of special events (wine dinners, liquor paring classes, cocktail events, chef dinners).

•Research and design of service oriented pamphlets and hand-outs to help maximize staff performances.

Matthew's Prologue

Human Facilitator, Developer, and Communicator

There is opportunity in every organization in the world to progress and sustain their brand.

One of the main ways to enhance a company's image is through its people, and how they represent themselves and their organization.

Trust, loyalty, education and degrees, knowledge, and commitment are all fantastic traits to have in employees. But, the differentiating factor that makes some better than others is the natural human element of communication.

There is an art to communication, in which a certain level of sophistication, tact, humbleness, and strategy must be achieved to be able to truly excel. You must intimately know the message and brand that you represent, and simultaneously be willing to listen and take in information from your audiences and communication partners.

For this reason, there are not too many people who are great at the art of communication. This is why there are far less quality leaders in business than are desperately needed.

Having people in your organization, especially in leadership positions, who are masters in human connection and communication can turn a good company in to a great company. For the customers, it gives an organization and its brand identity a feeling of meaning, trust, inclusion, responsiveness, care, and empathy. This idea spreads to interoffice, client, customer, vendor, peer, and community relationship building. If truly followed through with, this will make customers loyal and trusting in return, and will promote longer sustained success and profitability.

If your company is looking for someone who can connect with a multitude of different personalities, bring people together through desired knowledge and applied individual communication, and can facilitate the productivity of people and groups, then I would welcome the chance to speak with you.

Listen, Listen, and then Listen some more.
I promise, you will find the solution that you need.
