Candidate for Juris Doctorate

Currently I am learning how the law works. I decided to pursue this path because I am interested in how legal advocacy can realize philosophical frameworks of justice. This semester I am most excited about researching Haiti's 1805 Constitution and International Environmental Crime.

MA, Philosophy

I am interested in the practical impact of philosophy. It is for this reason that my MA thesis is about everyday issues of care and justice that affect childbearing women and mothers. Highlights of my philosophical career include presenting at the North American Sartre Society and drafting an index for "Being in America: Sixty Years of the Metaphysical Society" (Rodopi, 2014).

University of Oregon

BA, Philosophy

After reading my response to Ursula Le Guin's "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas," a teaching assistant encouraged me to major in Philosophy. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. After that first Ethics class, professors at the University of Oregon exposed me to adventurous thinkers like John Dewey, J├╝rgen Habermas, and Simone de Beauvoir. I was hooked.
