-Oversees all functions for ASM's highest impact broad-scope, open access, online only journal, mBio.
-Reviews and sets overall mBio editorial and production priorities.
-dentifies, recommends and implements improvements of current editorial and production workflows. In the event of system/process malfunctions, ensures that steps are taken immediately to fix them
-Advises mBio and other journal staff on issues involving editorial policy and consults with Director and Editor-in-Chief when new issues arise
-Establishes mBio production quality controls tasks and ensures they are completed in timely manner
-Monitors composition vendor to ensure manuscripts are prepared promptly and with high level of quality
-Monitors figure processing tasks to ensure that digital art is being appropriately evaluated for usability and integrity and that problems are resolved promptly
-Tracks journal editorial, production, usage statistics, creates and circulates regular reports to EIC, Director, and others as needed
-Supports Director in planning and implementing of journal strategy, content design, and display services.
-Coordinates annual Editorial Board meeting and other meetings as needed
-Assists Director with budget development, forecasts, report preparation, research, or other duties, as directed
