University of Missouri-Columbia
I'm a writer and student who loves stories: novels, art, fashion, dance, 140- character tweets, you name it. I love new places, new perceptions, and new experiences. And a red velvet cupcake never hurt either...
I love reading, writing, and being with people who have big ideas and big hearts. Let's get a slice of zucchini bread, go on a hike, or talk about women in tech.
June 2015 — Present
Landing an internship at Seventeen has been a literal dream come true. Every day, I get to see the inner workings of my favorite magazine and help research stories, gather quotes from real teen girls, and pitch ideas for upcoming issues. But one of the coolest moments was getting a story published online about the U.S. Women's National Team World Cup win.
Editorial intern, freelance writer
June 2014 — May 2015
Being an intern at Levo means you get to try just about everything! At Levo I was able to write and edit articles, upload content to the site, learn SEO best practices, create Levo's Spotify account, upload videos to YouTube, research future projects, and help develop a style guide.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. - Eleanor Roosevelt
European Youth Forum
Online communications intern
September 2014 — December 2014
While studying abroad in Belgium, I worked as an intern for the European Youth Forum, the platform of youth organizations in Europe. At the Youth Forum, I was responsible for writing cover stories and blog posts, creating a weekly newsletter, and producing content for social media. I also created the Youth Forum's Instagram account because, hello, Instagram is the best.
The Columbia Missourian
Public safety and health reporter
January 2014 — May 2014
I learned the ins and outs of a newsroom as I wrote 1-2 public safety and health articles each week. My favorite story featured a community dance class geared toward students with special needs. Along with the story, I produced a short multimedia video showcasing the dance class and its students.
The Maneater/MOVE Magazine
Fashion columnist, staff writer, copy editor
August 2012 — December 2013
For my first real writing job, I researched and wrote weekly fashion columns for my university's arts and culture magazine. I also learned how to spot AP Style errors, talk to my favorite musicians (hi Joshua Radin!), and review everything from theater productions to album releases.
University of Missouri
Journalism, Magazine Writing
I'm about to enter my senior year at Mizzou, where I study magazine journalism, computer science, and business. My favorite thing about university is being able to have hands-on journalism experience, while also dabbling in my other passions, like code and literature!
