A Life Well Designed

Growing my creative career while exploring possibilities in editing and directing. I have a soft spot for start-ups and life style blogs. Let's collaborate!

A Life Well Designed

Creative Director

A Life Well Designed [ALWD] is a lifestyle and coaching website founded in 2014. As Creative Director, I have helped to grow ALWD from a personal blog to a multi-faceted brand including personal coaching and a podcast, with over 4,000 downloads, in the first 6 months.
I discovered my passion for editing, research, and working collaboratively at this job.

Receiving Lead

At this fast-paced high-end boutique, I've quickly taken the lead on receiving thrice-weekly shipments to meet hourly processing goals. In this fun yet hard-working environment I use strong organizational skills to directly assist the visual manager with mark-down and inventory events. When necessary, I've also enthusiastically assisted with visual merchandising and selling.

Trunk Club

Sales Support (FT)

At this company that I've discovered how far I can push myself to achieve professional goals. I worked closely with merchandizing to solve an over-allocation crisis, implementing daily productivity accountability to establish processing expectations. I also created a standard for holding stock, helping to increase sales by maintaining a steady flow of available product.

BFA, Writing / Illustration

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is an interdisciplinary school where I studied conceptual fine art and non-fiction writing. During my time here I took courses in painting, drawing, photography, set design, fiber installation, cultural anthropology, fiction writing, and travel journalism. My experience with interdisciplinary projects and group collaboration at this school has become an integral part of my daily life as well as my professional practice. The final semester of courses emphasized arts management and business.

Transfer, Illustration / Business

At MATC I had my first experience with formal higher education. While I continued studying studio art, I also began exploring business and writing courses. It was during this time that I became interested in narrative nonfiction and prehistoric economics.
