• Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the core business systems of the MQA comprising of the MQA-I-Share Management Information System and the ISO9001-2008 Quality Management System
• Fulfill the responsibilities of the ISO 9001-2008 Internal Auditor for the MQA;
• Maintain and develop ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management System for MQA;
• Ensure that the MQA Management Information System and the MQA Quality Management System are fully integrated across all MQA operational Units;
• Establish and lead an MQA Stakeholder and MQA Staff forum for the MQA Management Information System;
• Establish and lead a Governance Forum for the MQA Management Information System
• Manage the Management Information System Service level agreement between MQA and Deloitte;
• Manage, develop and continuously improve training materials and processes for the MQA Management Information System and Quality Management System for all MQA stakeholders and staff;
• Manage, develop and implement an electronic monitoring and reporting system that reports on MQA key performance areas as identified in the annual business plan.
• Manage, develop and implement the quarterly monitoring and reporting (QMR) system for DoL reporting
• Manage, develop and implement the DoL score card monitoring and reporting system.

I joined The Mining Qualifications Authority – SETA in May 2008 as an IT Specialist in charge of the entire IT function in the organization reporting to an Executive (CFO) with a staff compliment of 5. My duties include:-

IT Operations Manager

I initially joined NAPSA as a Network Administrator located at the Head office responsible for a network with 18 Wide Area Network (WAN) sites, 500 IT users, with 300,000 members contributing monthly to the scheme. In 2005 I was promoted to IT operations manager reporting to the Director: IT, the executive responsible for IT. I managed 10 direct reports and was responsible for:-
- Enterprise Security antivirus and email antispam using technologies from Symantec V 10.0
- Firewall Implementation & Management using Internet Information Server (IIS) 2004
- Network Management and Monitoring using enterprise SolarWinds engineers toolkit
- Incident handling
- Development and implementation of various ICT Policies covering security, change management, asset management, business continuity management and compliance to ISO 27000, Cobit 4.0, ITIL and other industry standards
o Security Architecture Planning based on policy
o Risk Management
o Change Management - Member of Change Committee comprising all business units such as Finance, HR, Audit etc. to ensure ongoing handling of new Requests For Change (RFC) and adoption of new technologies
- Budgeting for projected IT capital and operations expenditure
