iCouldBe.org

New York, NY

With 13+ years of nonprofit experience, I’m creating Pivot, a crowdfunding incubator that provides practical and financial support in the form of full-time training, education, mentoring, and networking to “stupidly employed” underresourced women and minorities seeking a career change.

My dream job is leveraging technology to find and bring opportunity and hope to those who would otherwise be without. I want to connect those who are in need with the people and organizations who want to help. They who have been helped can then do the same for others. I'm working to create an opportunity-domino-effect. Won't you join me?

iCouldBe

Director of Programs

iCouldBe’s goal is to provide at-risk students with an online community of professional mentors, empowering teens to stay in school, plan for future careers, and achieve in life.

I started my career with iCouldBe nine years ago in the role of E-Mentoring Manager, quickly transitioned to Associate Director of Programs, and now serve as the Director of Programs. In this current role I provide the strategic direction for a program team of three full-time employees and one part-time intern. I synthesize data to identify themes and create solutions to address challenges, and serve as the chief relationship manager, recruiter, trainer and retention specialist overseeing national and international program partnerships, and corporate program portfolios upwards of $300k.

Accurate portrayal.

I LOVE learning for the sake of learning and often seek out the public library and high quality free online resources to help with that journey. Over the last several weeks I've utilized Khan Academy and Codecademy to learn basic HTML and CSS, with the goal of becoming fluent in multiple programming languages.

The marriage of education and technology will strengthen my ability to help organizations create a structure where employees are encouraged to do good while doing well. #DoGoodDoWell #DoWellDoGood

Education

SUNY New Paltz

B.A., Psychology

After several years supervising the Oasis and Haven campus crisis/non-crisis center, I came away with the distinct understanding that I make the greatest long-term impact when I nurture, train, and support others to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

M.A., Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Servant Leadership

The Organizational Leadership program validated my refusal to separate empathy from leadership. The two are not mutually exclusive. Emotional intelligence is the backbone of effective leadership.
