TSD Core Network Engineer

Team Member of the Core Network Technical Support Department in the Circuit Switching Division (CS) assisting Mexico market and CALA region.

I have participated giving support to projects of high impact for customers like: Telcel-America Móvil, Iusacell, and Telefónica Movistar.

I participated in the AMX LDI Project that consisted in the design and installation of the CS Long Distance Network for 13 countries divided in 4 regions along LatAm. I was in charge of the installation and commissioning of the MSC and SBC equipments in Nextengo Telcel-AM Site in México City. Also I participated in the configuration, maintenance and preparation of Acceptance Test Protocol (ATP) documentation and tasks for the iManager M2000 equipment that should control all the NEs for the LDI Network in the 4 regions.

I did maintenance tasks for the M2000 equipment during the first stage of the GU Iusacell Project.

I have been in charge of the installation, commissioning, and integration of the EIR (Equipment Identity Register) Project in Monterrey, Mexico for Telefónica Movistar. This Huawei EIR Equipment (HLR9820) is the first equipment of its class (ATCA Technology) installed in the entire world and the first Core Network Huawei Equipment that goes commercial for Telefónica Movistar Mexico.
For Movistar also gave support for the installation for STP SG7000 and configuration remote support for China from Mexico.



Remote Network Integration / Core Network Engineer

• Nortel New Graduated Development Program (NGPD) Class 2008 member.

• Activities in Core/Wireless Network Engineering Area as a Pathfinder Development Team Member, working with 11 engineers located in Mexico, USA, and Canada. Pathfinder Plus (PFP) is a Nortel Software Configuration Tool used for design, dimensioning, and provisioning CDMA networks/Packet Core Network.

• I was in charge of the design, research, and documentation for the Pathfinder’s User’s Guide Module.

• I participated and gave some Training Session (KT’s) for Nortel’s regional engineers and other internal users that are located in NA and CALA regions.

• I did testing tasks that include audit and validation activities for the Pathfinder GUI’s outputs of the Customer Inputs Questionnaires (CIQ) Module, using several test cases of real and particular scenarios for PMSC and eBSC.

• Responsible of the integration and functional testing tasks for the interface between Pathfinder Plus Tool and Centralized Engineering Solution (CES) Tool.

• During the last months in Core Engineering, we achieved a 0% of tool defects and increase the use of the tool from 45% to 90%.

• During the first months in Nortel, also I participated with Remote Network Integration Area (RNI) on several commissioning and integration BTS projects for NA region.

• For RNI, I did alarm monitoring reports for projects in different market places in the USA, for costumers like: Verizon Wireless, Sprint and US Cellular. This also included alarm log files reports (greps), and OM’s data from BTS and MTX, access and acquisition of CACP log files using the Nortel CDMA CACP Client Tool.

• Basic knowledge and tasks about remote configuration, support, and integration of the CDMA BTS’s.

• Execution of activities and tasks of management, configuration of Avaya PBX facilities, and support of the IPN’s Digital Telephone System Network.

• Knowledge of the IP Telephony fundamentals.

• Attention to users of the telephone network, especially of the IPN’s Government Area to attend problems and give solution with its phone lines and/or repair of telephone and systems hardware.

• Interaction with the software for network administration Avaya Site Administration (ASA).

• Participation in some projects of high impact for the institution like: Configuration of the trunks and dial plan groups for the IPN’s CEC-Cancún PBX on September 2008. During August to November 2008, I was in charge of the IPN’s Digital Telephone Network Prevention and Security Project, which consisted in audit, change, and configuration of some parameters of all the IP PBX all over the institution.
