Enlighten. Enrich. Empower.
Our non-profit group was established in 2013 in fulfillment of our ongoing mission to financially, educationally and professionally support underprivileged college students in China. In the past three years, we have expanded to a consortium of outstanding and dedicated young professionals from a wide array of industries, including non-profit management, IT, telecommunication engineering, architecture design, finance, mathematics, and human resources. Each of our volunteers serves as a mentor and is matched with a college student whom they meet with on a regular basis throughout the semester. These mentorship opportunities provide personalized coaching for students, following a systematic training curriculum that we developed in collaboration with professionals from Northwestern University. In providing both financial and developmental support, we are committed not only to creating an enriched college experience for our mentored students, but also to cultivating their leadership skills, sense of self-reliance, and spirit of community service. At present, we have mentored and invested in 21 students, and our feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
Mentorship, as we understand it, is not a matter of "what I can tell you," but rather "what you can become through me". As professionals who are thankful for what we have received in life, we are willing to make ourselves available to the greater community so that we might in turn invest in our students what others have invested in us.
We enjoy seeking people from various backgrounds who understand and share our mission to be part of our growing consortium and considering how we might act as a resource to better the lives of others. We gladly welcome any individuals or groups interested in becoming one of our mentors, providing suggestions on our continuing development, or making a contribution to the endowment funds that we provide to the underprivileged students we financially support.
