Primary Care Nurse

Working within a families and dependants medical centre within the british army in Germany. This role mainly comprises of acute care, telephone assessment of patients, chronic disease management as well as health promotion and ensuring all QOF/Key performance Indicator targets are met and in line with the NHS standards. Being the only nurse in a nurse led practice with part time GP input means I have the responsibility to ensure that the practice is performing to the best possible standard and ensuring our clients are provided with the best service possible.
My main responsibility in this role include:
• Telephone assessment
• Health Promotion
• Soldiers health and ensuring soldiers are fit to deploy on operations
• Chronic disease management
• Travel immunisations
• Childhood immunisations
• Well woman and man clinics including breast screening, cervical screening and bowel screening
• Smoking cessation
• Carrying out Audits both personal and service
• Maintaining QOF/KPI
I spend a large amount of time working as the senior member of staff within the medical centre therefor management of personnel is also an important part of my role.
