Sr Technical Specialist/Local Resource Coordinator/Electric Distribution Dispatcher

Create daily and weekly schedules for new construction, and system improvement jobs by identifying available resources. Resources include, but are not limited to, electric distribution personnel, fleet and equipment, and materials. Utilize knowledge of interpreting electric prints and supporting information from engineering to determine resources necessary to complete work in a timely and efficient manner. Create a weekly report indicating future schedule, past schedule compliance. Collaborating with every associated department to ensure the highest standard in scheduling is achieved.

Daily dispatching of crews and other field personnel using Maestro dispatch console 800 MHZ radio system. Handle the dispatch of calls and the operational switching of electric distribution overhead and underground lines. Employee and public safety always primary goal. Dispatch work to field crews and coordinate crew locations, keeping track of who is out working, when they started, when they left, and when they will return. Serve as communications link to personnel in the field. Log field reports and update outage system with estimated restoration times. Update headquarters and storm restoration director with storm restoration information. Coordinate with wire guard operations and forestry dispatcher. Analyze affected circuits and consolidate outage orders for efficient dispatch. Manage maintenance orders. Prioritize hierarchy of outage calls. Print out orders when needed.

Provide vacation coverage for schedulers in other headquarters, as well as training and mentoring new hires. Assist line crew supervisor, especially during absences to ensure smooth headquarters operations.. Served on company hearing conservation committee and local safety committee.

Received requests to provide electric service for new construction. Met customers at job site to determine voltage requirements and best possible route for installation. Coordinated with forestry, local government entities, company right of way department, scheduling, and supply chain. Investigated voltage issues reported by customers and/or electric line crews and determined best possible resolution, including designing for system upgrades wherever necessary. Processed all necessary permits, submitted billing, and initiated miss dig notifications when needed. Created electrical graphical design utilizing Microstation program maintaining company electric distribution standards.

Supported storm restoration in different capacities statewide (Northwest, northeast, western Lakeshore, Southwest, Southern). (Wire guard) - remain on site at location of downed wires to prevent public from entering the area until electric crews arrive to make repairs. (Damage assessor) - identify damage to electric distribution facilities associated with outages and determine open/closed status of protective devices outside of substation. Differentiate between Transmission lines, high voltage distribution lines, primary, secondary, service and communication lines. Communicate damages to designated contact. (Field guide) - accompany and lead outside company crews, and contractor crews. Identify assigned work for crews and assist in determining repairs needed. Relay any needs or concerns of crews as well as any safety violations to designated contact. (Dispatch and back-up dispatch) see job description above.
