We are thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker for this event is the fabulous Christy Uffelman of Align Leadership!
Christy has facilitated peer learning and coached leaders for over a decade, helping them align talent strategy with business strategy. Christy launched the east coast office of Align Leadership in 2013 centering on women’s leadership development and Millennial/Gen X initiatives – helping organizations like FedEx Ground, PNC Bank, CONSOL Energy and Eat’n’Park engage and develop their emerging talent pipeline. On the cusp of the Millennial generation herself, Christy brings credibility and passion to organizations that want to better understand and leverage their young talent.
Christy’s work with cohort-based learning led to the development of PEER Technology®. This innovative virtual leadership development experience captured the attention of Fortune 500 companies and is being used in Onboarding programs, Hi-Potential programs, Diversity programs, and Technical Rotation programs. PEER Technology® was deployed to create a cohort of Energy HR professionals when Align partnered with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, The Pittsburgh Technology Council, CONSOL Energy, EQT and Range Resources to create GRID in October 2014. Christy launched the EDGE Experience, a year-long women’s leadership development program targeted at mid-career leaders, in 2016.
Christy is a sought after national speaker in the field of Millennial/Gen Y development and Women’s Leadership. Her experience developing Millennials across the country and her work to ignite and inspire women in male-dominated industries provided a platform for speaking in various venues and spawned several research projects including Women Leaders across Generations and Align’s Millennial Engagement Groups. Her creativity in designing these programs and founding PEER Technology® led to the honors of being the ATHENA Young Professional Recipient and the YWCA Young Leader of the Year in 2012 and a Woman of Distinction in 2014. She was recognized in 2016 as a 40 Under 40 Honoree for being an individual whose creativity, vision and passion enrich the Pittsburgh region.
A TED Speaker and NPR Millennial resource, Christy grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Duquesne University with a B.A. in both Psychology and Corporate Communication. She is recognized by The Huffington Post as a Fierce Woman and is both a board certified ontological coach from Newfield and a certified Master Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute. Christy is the Pittsburgh Chair of Women on Boards 2020, a national nonprofit committed to increasing the percentage of female talent on Fortune 1000 boards of directors. Christy lives in Mt. Lebanon with her husband, Kevin and their two “kids”: a 13 yr. old daughter, Elaina, and a 3 yr. old white German shepherd, Theo.
