LocalLEVO Seattle 2015 Book Club // Book One

June 1 • 3:07 - 3:08pm

TBD

Event Description

LocalLEVO Seattle 2015 Book Club // Book One

We typically associate success and leadership with smarts, passion and luck. But in today's hypercompetitive world, even those gifts aren't enough. Get Big Things Done argues that the game changer is a thoroughly modern skill called Connectional Intelligence. Virtually anyone can maximize his or her potential, and achieve breakthrough performance, by developing this crucial ability. (Amazon Excerpt)

Get Big Things Done - Erica Dhawan, Saj-nicole A. Joni

Start reading: Early April
Final Meeting: Brunch at Rock Creek on June 6th 11:15-1:15

We have 25 copies of this book that Levo headquarters sent us (amazing!!). So, the first 25 people to hit RSVP on this link will receive one of the free books! I will have the books available to pick up at our April 15th Negotiation Workshop or you can contact me to arrange an earlier pick up.

Even if you don't receive one of the free books, PLEASE feel free to participate in this book club read!

If you would like to purchase the book, you can find it on Amazon for about $20 here: http://www.amazon.com/Get-Big-Things-Done-Connectional/dp/1137279788/ref=sr_1_1
Book Club Structure
We will take 2 months per book, so we can end before the November/December holiday season. We will take one week off between books, just to allow for a break to those who would like it. By no means do you need to adhere to a reading schedule, we are simply providing a mid-book check in point... so if you've read past that halfway point no spoilers when we meet up!

As with any good club, there are a few rules:

1st rule of book club: You do NOT have to read every book to participate! I totally understand if a book doesn't resonate with you so this is not a "you MUST read all books and attend all meetings" sort of book club.

2nd rule of book cub: If you decide to participate and read the book, we suggest committing to attending at least one of the meetings to discuss. You have valuable perspective and things you will learn that the group would love to hear!

3rd rule of book club: We are not going to be a book club that ONLY reads wine labels. While delicious libations might be a part of meetings, we are focused on reading and learning from these fantastic authors and I promise to be a dedicated moderator with discussion questions prepared and I vow to both keep up on track discussing the book and allow us to go on tangents when we get passionate about topics in the book(s).
