Have you ever thought about going freelance?
Have you ever dreamed of quitting your job, setting your own schedule -- and making even more money?
So many women are in a situation where they feel trapped. They know they have this potential inside of them to live a life that’s different from the one they’re currently living and more in line with their personal beliefs, values, and career goals. They know they have the potential to make even MORE money, on their own terms.
Part of the reason why they can’t make a change is because they feel stuck in a job, feel dependant on a consistent income, or can’t leave a certain geographic area. This speaks to why we started DailyWorth – to allow women to envision the life they want to live on their own terms, then going out and learning how to fund that life.
Part of doing so means being sure that whether you like your job right now or not, you’ll never have to depend on a job and you won’t have to be afraid if you lose your job – because you’ll ALWAYS know how to make money without your employer. Whether you’re trying to leave a job, want to have the option to leave a job, or are forced to a leave a job, freelancing is VITAL skill I want all women to know how to do.
I have only had a full-time job for 2 years in my 20 year career -- I was in the IT department of a large non-profit. The week I learned I was pregnant with my son, I resigned, so that I would have 9 months to build up a freelance consulting business so that I could afford to work less when my son was born. Whether or not I was financially better off remains in question, but to me, the ability to control how often I was with my baby versus hiring additional help was non-negotiable to me. I want you to always have that choice and capacity to make money when a job isn’t desired or an option, as well.
But if you leave your job and go freelance without understanding a few certain basics about your financial life, you could do serious damage to and even jeopardize your financial security.
We are demystifying all of that in a single workshop. Join me next week for the Fly Solo Money Workshop: How to Thrive as a Freelancer - it’s free.
Freelancers now make up 35 percent of the workforce. Why can’t you be one of them?
So reclaim your independence. Realize your long-term earning potential. Stop punching the clock. And shift your mindset from I really need this job to I can make a living on my own. It’s one of the most important things you can do for your career and long-term financial stability.
