Determined Educator

Always keeping myself within the mindset of "student first", learning as much as I can is my top priority. I am passionate about education. I have achieved success in some of the toughest environments in the country and am in pursuit of additional opportunities to make an impact.

Fairfield University

B.A. , Economics

My Economics professor and advisor at Fairfield offered great advice that ended up changing my life path in one of the worst years for getting hired right out of school, "It's a great year for Teach for America". I applied, got offered a position as a core member, moved to Chicago and started teaching. I learned more about myself in the first six weeks of training and student teaching then I had in four years at college, studying abroad, and as a Division 1 athlete. My work ethic, generosity of spirit, appreciation for teachers I've had and focus on maintaining a growth mindset grew tremendously.

I have taught many things to little people but the most powerful thing I have learned to do is to teach children how to read. My goal is to get them to that moment where they laugh at something they read independently. To me that's finding joy in reading and learning, it's the best thing I can do for my students.
