SafeRides is a 501(c)(3)-certified nonprofit that aims to prevent drunk driving by providing free rides home to students and by educating the community on the dangers of drunk driving. Since the implementation of the program the rates of DUIs and DWIs in Harrisonburg have decreased by 30 percent.
- Oversee the Board of Directors (20 members) and approximately 150 volunteer members
- Oversee and manage an estimated annual budget of $45,000
- Serve as a liaison to Office of Substance Abuse Prevention and the Office of Student Activities and Involvement

Responsibilities include editing photos for website by correcting angles, adjusting colors and contrast, and resizing to several different sizes using Photoshop CS5. Responsibilities included taking orders, ringing up customers, serving food and drinks, keeping the grill and patio clean, restocking products, and providing customer service. I also worked in the snack bar and drove a beverage cart on the golf course. Overall, not too complicated of a job, but I furthered by customer service skills, and learned a lot about holding myself and others accountable when working within a large company.
