Lisa Elia

In my messaging and media training sessions with clients, I draw upon my more than 20 years as a publicist, training clients for interviews on CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, network news stations throughout the U.S., and radio and print interviews. I bring to the training sessions my experience as a public speaker who has delivered hundreds of presentations to both large and small groups of people and my acting training (from some of the best teachers in New York). I bring in other professionals on an as-needed basis to provide special services, such as the Alexander Technique or accent reduction.

When working with clients, my team and I are sensitive to the vulnerable position you are in, so our approach is gentle, proactive and positive. We don’t believe in negative reinforcement of any kind. With that being said, I will continue providing refinements and feedback to help training participants reach their personal best in terms of message delivery, nonverbal behavior and energy.

Lisa Elia

Lisa Elia is a strategist, consultant and media trainer who has prepared clients for interviews in major media outlets, such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Time Magazine, USA Today, CNN, Redbook, In Style and hundreds of others. She recently transitioned out of full-service public relations work to focus solely on media training, communication consulting and coaching.

Lisa has been featured in media outlets that include Inc. Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, E! Entertainment, Us Magazine and many others.

Lisa’s background in the communication field goes back to her college days. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication with a public relations focus from the University of Delaware spent more than 20 years continuously building upon the strong foundation of her education. In 1990, after working for other firms, she formed Elia & Associates, a small marketing-communications firm in Wilmington, Delaware.

After a brief stint in New York, Lisa moved to Los Angeles and founded Lisa Elia Public Relations in 1998, with the promise to herself to only work with businesses and people she feels passionate about helping. Over the years she discovered that her greatest joy came from providing media training so her clients could feel confident and get the most from every interview.

She began providing more concentrated media training services in 2002 and later named this division of her company Expert Media Training. In 2013 Lisa transitioned Lisa Elia PR to Elia Erickson Consulting, and now runs both divisions of her company.
