Peer Mentor Coordinator, First Year Experience

Mentor and train 75 Peer Mentors to serve as resources in academic-based classroom settings to class sizes of 15-25 first-year students. Facilitate and plan monthly professional and personal development workshops sessions for Peer Mentors to aid in their interactions with first-year students and facilitation in a classroom setting. Design and improve new Peer Mentor training program and handbook for fall 2016 semester which promotes deep reflection regarding individual Peer Mentor experiences, interactions, and overall development. Serve on several First Year Experience committees by participating in large-scale assessment and planning meetings.

Kick-start and U-turn Program Coordinator, Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center

Developed and implemented four programs throughout one semester focused on undergraduate student personal wellness and academic success. Designed and led a one-day academic-focused retreat offering students strategies for effective studying and test-taking, and self-care. Organized program planning manual and reports for successors by leading focus groups with students to collect and review feedback in order to offer improvements for future events. Marketed programs and retreat to more than 200 student organizations and on-campus departments to recruit a diverse group of student participants.

House Director, Sigma Sigma Sigma - Beta Epsilon Chapter House

Live-in position managing opening and closing of house by preserving record of damages in 13 individual resident rooms, common spaces, and around house property. Advise 60 active sorority chapter members and 22-24 live-in chapter members by engaging in conversations through individual meetings, all-house group meetings, and provide referrals as necessary. Directly supervise House Manager and indirectly supervise House Chef by ensuring open dialogue around facility concerns, completion of house chores, and food preparation and serving. Conduct and follow-up on facility requests by relaying concerns to Faculty Advisor of chapter house, General Contractor, and designated contacts.
