Virgin River Arundo donax eradication Project Leader

I organized a survey and eradication project plan for Arundo donax in the Virgin River Watershed with project partners: Utah DWR, NRCS, BLM, and TNC. I have surveyed about 90 miles of river and have found over 800 individuals, many more than expected. In 2012 I was able to treat 213 individuals and took 2.56 tons of arundo biomass out of the watershed. The current data has taken arundo off the Utah waterwise website and has labeled it as a noxious weed in Washington County, Utah. This project has also given me the opportunity to speak at the Virgin River Symposium and the Utah Weed Control Association.
