Managed key department initiatives including department wide programs and large conferences along with running the budget and keeping the boss on time. I grew in the role as a key liaison between departments, and provided advice on operations, logistics, and staffing.

British Consulate-General Boston

Executive Officer

Boston Irish Business Association

Business Development Associate

Responsibilities centered around various event projects including; development and management of the BIBA Political Speaker Series, managing the company incubator office, working with the Board of Directors and President to implement a social media campaign, development and marketing of the BIBA website, and coordination with the Membership Director on outreach programs.

This job was such a collaborative and self taught project. The more I put into it, the more I learned about how successful businesses are when they incorporate creativity and the interests of their stakeholders. Designing a user friendly website, and providing a consistent flow of ideas and challenging the direction of the organization. made this such a fantastic challenge for me during graduate school.

Capitol Associates

Moakley Fellow/ Lobbying Assistant

I was awarded a Moakley Fellowship through Suffolk University to work in Washington, DC at a small lobbying firm focused on health care law. In this capacity I provided legislative and heavy research support to the lobbyists on current health care law topics, most notably the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. I honed my skills on how to tailor memos and reports to specific clients on lengthy hearings, and condensed federal notices into small paragraphs. I was fortunate to also attend several congressional hearings on health law, and developed a significant passion for working in Washington, DC.
