Co-Founder and President

I co-founded STEM Center USA to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders by developing a passion for STEM careers at a young age and maintaining interest throughout middle and high school. We provide students with an experiential education that excites, engages, and enriches through a unique, learn-by-doing curriculum. Children are taught how to design, build, and program robots using multiple programming languages.

In addition to our services, we also offer our own uniquely designed, and affordable products - the Pi-Bot and The Technical Alphabet.

As a senator and Mechanical Engineering student, Lavanya focused her efforts on representing underrepresented students in the STEM fields. Lavanya raised $10,000 to fund STEM outreach programs that interact with local school districts such as Berkeley, Oakland, and Richmond.

In addition, she also worked on the campaign to get funding back for Lick Observatory. With her political push through the ASUC, Lavanya was able to help secure over $1 million in funding for Lick.

Standardizing methods to test material decay in salt water. This material is being used and tested in the Wave Carpet, a converter which efficiently harvests energy in the sea. The design was inspired by the ability of muddy seafloors to effectively absorb over passing ocean waves within only a couple of wavelengths.
