Certification Officer – Foreign Inspection Division (FID)

Duties and Accomplishments:
• Responsible for analyzing and interpreting Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) documentation and issuing and revising Canadian Foreign Air Operator Certificates (FAOC’s);
• Provide client support services to air operators to ensure that they submit and receive correct documentation;
• Work closely with the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to ensure foreign operators are meeting the requirements to obtain a License from the CTA;
• Create and maintain several electronic databases to track foreign air operators and incoming and outgoing dockets ;
• Use the National Aviation Company Information System (NACIS) on a daily basis to update company information and produce FAOC”s.
• Utilize the RDIMS to save and document correspondence, operations specifications, FAOC’S, etc..
• Conduct research on various international technical topics in short timelines on various international aviation websites, specifically regarding the past safety records of foreign air operators.
• Develop flow charts that document certification procedures in FID.
• Prepare correspondence, Ministerial Exemptions, briefing notes and other documents related to technical and policy issues.
• Prepare minutes of meetings and summary reports.

• Provided delegates with working papers and orders of business for the daily meetings.
