As president of UST PRSSA, I manage a club of over 30 members including a 6 member executive board. I lead weekly meetings and coordinate speakers from the local professional community as well as provide club members with opportunities to become involved in the local PR community. Under my leadership, the club has expanded by over 15 members.
I handle game day media set up and check in before the game. During the game I distribute stats at time outs and at the end of each quarter. After the game is over I transcribe player quotes for distribution to the media.
I write participating player profiles and local event recaps for TasteoftheNFL.com, coordinate player interviews with NFL Sirius and complete other various PR tasks as assigned. I will also travel to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII to help with on-site public relations during media week and throughout our event on Super Bowl eve.
Gridiron Support raises awareness (and hopefully funds) for the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, a nonprofit company focused on raising support for former NFL athletes who have fallen on hard times. A major focus of this project is on the health issues that NFL athletes face, including the problems of concussions and head injuries in the NFL.
My Vikings game day experience begins a few hours before kickoff when I work to prepare the press box for the media by putting together media kits and information packets. I also work at field level with on-the-field media check in and distribution of vests. During the game, I distribute stats around the press box and stadiums and cater to the needs of the media. After the game, I record press conferences and transcribe the quotes for prompt distribution to the media.
Updated & maintained social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram) for both regions
Coordinated & Oversaw various events featuring FOX talent and promotions
Generated, presented and executed projects to gain personalized internship experience
As the Social Media Coordinator for our chapter of PRSSA, I manage the club's Twitter, Facebook, and Wordpress accounts. I create content for the social media platforms, promote relevant industry news, keep the blog updated weekly, and promote our activites.
As a Social Media Promoter for SaveTheVikes.Org, I volunteer as a voice through various social media outlets to inform the public and urge them to take action toward helping Minnesota get a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings. I also write letters and e-mails to legislators, attend awareness events, and have written articles for SavetheVikes.org.
I provide in-home care for three beautiful girls; Charlotte, a three year old with special needs, and her twin sisters Sophie and Maddie. I watch the children while their parents are away, prepare meals and snacks for the girls, engage with them in both high and low energy activities, help them with their schoolwork, and monitor their safety. I am lucky to work with such wonderful children, and I have learned a lot from these little girls.
During my time at Best Buy, I moved from ordinary Sales Representative, to Customer Service, and ultimately ended up as a Mobile Sales Specialist. This position required endless direct customer contact and service, the ability to think quickly and use strong decision making skills, and ultimately be knowledgeable enough to sell the right products to the right customers. Through my progression, I was able to experience many aspects of Retail Sales and learn to work effectively with many different personalities.
