As a resident assistant I help build a community for UIC students who live in the residence halls. I also create programs that can focus on aspects like social, recreational, education, or maybe a mixture of all. I work with my Peer Mentor who handles more of the academic side to my community however I able still able to assist residents with academic areas in which I able proficent in.
I am the founder and lead photographer of Searching Serenity Photography. Searching Serenity Photography (SSP) covers sporting events, parties, weddings, concerts, landscapes, and portraits. I am have experience of about three years of photography via AltRockLive.com. Much of my work can be found on our Facebook page and Tumblr.
As a writer, I post a daily to weekly blog of what goes on the music world of alternative rock. This can be updates about bands, music videos, tour announcements, and anything else along those lines. As a interviewer, I will request to interview a band and ask them questions that are either submitted by fans or myself. Finally as a photographer I request shows that later on I shoot and submit online to be views. Some of my work is also selected as 'Photo of the Day'.
I work in the Quality and Accreditation Unit at the UIC's College of Pharmacy. I help analyze data and medical cases to help build UIH's "report card". I also run regular office errands and help prepare course material for doctors/ nurses/ and anyone else in the hospital setting who have to continue their education.
As a CNA for my high school I worked in many externships in the suburbs of Boston and in the city of Brockton. My patients were majority elderly and had alzheimer's disease. I also had patients who were in hospice care as well. Some of my duties included washing the patients, making sur ethey were comfortable, massages, assisting the nurses in treating a patient, emptying/cleaning of catheters, and many more. I also shadowed doctors in the dialysis unit, neurology unit, pediatric unit, X-Rays/ MRI, and many more.
As a wedding planner I literally became someone's best friend for months. I would work with the bride and groom to create their dream wedding. This meant working with several bridal dress companies, florists, bakeries, and many more retailers. This job required a lot of patient, problem solving, and how to meet the needs of the bridal party while also making peace with everyone else. Collaboration was definitely required.
