Provide supervision and monitoring of adult ex-offenders, many with mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses, pursuant to court orders and/or Parole Board directives in accordance with VADOC standards and Evidence Based Practices; formulate supervision plans based on client needs, document client progress and/or problems, responding with positive affirmation(s), sanctions, or referrals as needed; conduct investigations for courts and supervision, including Presentence Reports and VCIN/NCIC checks; testify/appear in court as needed; communicate with local law enforcement agencies, including Commonwealth's Attorney's offices, jails, and those from other states; communicate post sentence information to crime victims and answer questions related to inmates incarcerated in a Virginia prison; facilitated Thinking for a Change Peer Support meetings. * Employed at three Virginia Districts beginning 2006 (break from 2009 to 2010 due to relocation). Currently at the Newport News District Office with specialization in sex offenders that includes close work with treatment providers and communication with family and community members. Past brief specialization with gang population.
