In a company-wide managerial role, Kiera manages the "Save The Pines" program which she developed and implements daily to show that business is a force for good. This role is crucial in developing the skills needed for successful change management in business.

Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast

Gold Award Committee Member and Mentor

The Girl Scout Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Open only to girls in high school, this prestigious award challenges girls to change the world. The committee dedicated to supporting girls 14-18 in their journey to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Responsibilities Include ensuring:
-a system for orienting girls as well as parents, Leaders, and Gold Award Project Advisors prior to
embarking upon projects;
-a quality learning experience for the individual girl, based upon her needs and abilities;
-support of an expanding network of adults available to provide expertise to girls;
-timely project approval based upon correct interpretation of GSUSA and GSCCC safety and program
guidelines; and
-a system for honoring girls who have earned the Gold Award.

Skills Applied Include:
- Strong mentoring and facilitation skills;
- Familiarity and support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the GSUSA Mission;
- Understanding of and ability to follow guidelines as outlined in GSUSA materials and Safety Activity;
- Ability to be a positive and productive member of the committee;
- Recognizing of, and the ability to relate to a diverse community;
- Ability to understand the developmental needs and to communicate respectfully and positively; and
- Guiding all actions by the Girl Scout Mission, Promise, and Law.

- Conduct necessary research to benchmark best practices for the public charity;
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions with management and board to create a vision, mission, goals and objectives;
- Conduct internal, external, and competitive analysis to ascertain the organization's strategic strengths and opportunities. Evaluate strategic options including feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis;
- Present strategy to various stakeholders;
- Develop a financial strategy to implement plan and support operations. Analyze the financial implications of strategic decisions. Identify areas of risk;
