I connect with and interview each organization to identify individual needs to better connect them with the resources they need, and I am creating and designing all web content including copy, videos, photos and interactive maps.

Elon’s 10-month, full-time program prepares graduates to think strategically across media platforms; plan and create interactive media content consisting of text, images, sounds, video and graphics; and manage information for interactive news, entertainment and persuasive communications. Students learn from award-winning professors, build their own interactive media projects in state-of-the-art facilities, and help chart the future of media communication.

Completed office tasks and administrative work, organized filing systems, and entered data. Communicated with hundreds of clients in English and Spanish to organize appointments and ensure each client had access to services. Cold called clients to assess their participation in and satisfaction with various programs.

ProNiño

Volunteer/Intern

Various volunteer experiences since 2009.

June 2011: Began using Facebook as a means for increasing visibility and awareness for the program. Interviewed children in the program about their experiences in ProNiño to make a short film about the program. Conducted photography workshops to teach basics and gauge interest in the fall photography course.

Fall 2011: Designed and implemented a photography course for 18 former street kids currently living in a group home in order to empower them and give them a new means of self expression. Taught the basics of photography, led group activities and conducted home visits. Provided the ProNiño Foundation with new media material including photos and videos. Designed and ran a gallery benefit exhibition for the foundation, as an opportunity for the students to show their hard work, while raising $1,000 and securing in kind donations from influential members of Honduran society and the press. Created and maintained a blog that was updated with photos, videos and stories that had over 600 unique viewers from 28 countries over the course of two months. www.lensesarelouderthanwordspronino.weebly.com
