Conferences and Special Events Intern and Student Assistant

I began as a student assistant in Butler University's office of Conferences and Special Events in August 2012. In this position, I assist students, faculty and external clients with reserving space and other resources for on-campus events. I also work closely with the office staff to plan and prepare for events. After a year serving as a student assistant, I was invited to take on the additional role of the office's intern. In addition to the duties associated with being a student assistant, I work with the staff to plan and execute large scale events for Butler University such as formal dinner galas and the upcoming Spring 2014 commencement ceremonies.

U.S. Department of State

Virtual Student Foreign Service eIntern

Working specifically for the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, I researched educational systems across the globe to assist the further development of the Access English Language Microscholarship Program. As this was a "virtual" internship that I completed remotely, I worked independently, yet communicated regularly with my program supervisor through email and phone calls. I organized and compiled my final research data and observations into a spreadsheet and report which is still utilized by the office.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon General Production Intern

While serving as a general production intern for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, I assisted the show's staff, crew and guests with a wide variety of tasks. Each day was unique--some days I would work in the studio and assist with run-throughs and others I would be picking up props across the city. This position required flexibility and the ability to manage high-pressure situations quickly. Having never been to NYC before, I quickly learned how to navigate the city. Through all of my experiences as an intern, I gained critical company and entertainment industry knowledge.
