Sam's Club

Advantage Coordinator

At Sam's Club, I worked several various positions; the positions I worked included customer service, cellular kiosk associate, and front end supervisor. A few of the tasks that each position required were assisting members in a timely manner, handling transactions and returns, processing membership and credit applications, answering calls and providing solutions over the phone, and supervising the front end associates. The most recent title I held was as an advantage coordinator. I was responsible of contacting businesses and organizations to coordinate events that would allow me to solicit their employees and offer them benefits of being a member of Sam's Club. I was also in charge of representing the company at events and meetings, such as the Ames Chamber's Business at Breakfast and several Campustown Action Association meetings. I would utilize those opportunities to discuss and present the accomplishments of the Club and gain information on ways we can continue to help better the community.

Strawberry Patch

Sales Associate

Originally, I was hired on as seasonal part-time but after several shifts, I was offered the opportunity to stay past the season and to continue to work part-time for the business. As a sales associate there, we were required to work independently most shifts doing tasks such as, straightening and stocking the floor, assisting customers, and handling transactions and returns. I quickly surpassed these expectations and earned the ability to close the store by myself after two training shifts. I was also responsible of training new hires throughout the season as they became fellow co-workers.

K-Mart

Sales Associate

At K-Mart, I was originally hired on as a cashier but was quickly promoted to become a jewelry counter sales associate. In my time at the company, I was responsible of maintaining my department and maximizing sales and profit. It was also not rare for me to be in charge of covering the customer service counter during the night shifts, as well as assist during the weekend hours.
