Five cities, two countries and a successful marketing business later, I now call Chapel Hill home and have job that combines some of my biggest interests: communications, higher education and techology.
Co-owner of digital communications strategy, web design and development firm. We are a boutique company that specializes in helping small business owners and entrepreneurs find and refine their digital presence. In our business, my principal areas of expertise include:
-Social media planning and engagement
-Web design using best practices
-Content management, creation and curation
-Blogging for business consulting
-Design, development and content that is optimized for search engines
The majority of our clients come to us with an old or outdated website in search of a fresh design that not only looks good, but attracts and retains customers and adheres to best practices and standards. A growing percentage of our clients are looking for content creation and curation in the form of blogging and social media interaction.
I created Kate’s Tech Talks to share my love for and expertise on web design + development, branding and digital strategy. In my once-a-week video series I share my top tips for helping you raise the standard of your brand’s online presence.
I founded Southern Flourish magazine, a primarily digital publication dedicated to the 20-something Southerner. Eight issues were produced in two years, with the most popular issue boasting over 120,000 unique online readers. Highlights:
-Created editorial calendar for eight 75+ page issues
-Sourced cover stories and home tours to create compelling content
-Managed 5-15 freelance contributors for each issue
-Oversaw and contributed to graphic design and layout of each issue
-Produced shoots for Spring and Fall 2010 issues, including art direction and styling
