Wikimedia Foundation

Director of Community Operations

Led a cross-functional team focused on conducting small, rapid experiments in search of the silver bullet(s) that may increase editor engagement and retention on Wikipedia and sister projects. My team engaged in deep community, product, and policy thinking -- translating those ideas into testing different ways to transform Wikipedia's 475 million readers into valuable contributors.

* Maintain experiments backlog, supported by benchmarking and analysis of editor trends, behavior and lifecycle
* Define and run iterative, experimental projects focused on improving editor retention and creating a better editing experience
* Create infrastructure for rapid A/B testing and bucketing strategies for data-driven development of new products
* Conduct global meet-ups to better understand editor/author needs for non-English Wikipedias; define how the foundation can support those communities
* Facilitated/coordinated tech, creative and production efforts for $30 M annual fundraiser
