-Provide direct services to shelter residents (women and children) including crisis
intervention, safety planning, crisis counseling, advocacy, resource information,
and referrals to other services and resources.
-Provide individual advocacy on behalf of victims of domestic abuse and their
children.
-Provide comprehensive case management for shelter residents. Support and
assist residents in achieving their individual goals.
-Maintain resource and referral information and procedures necessary to assist
shelter residents in achieving diverse goals.
-Provide follow-up services to residents after they leave shelter on an as-needed
basis.
-Facilitate cooperative living, peer support, and resident participation in shelter
programming through activities, projects, and curriculum for individuals and
families. Model and actively promote positive, nurturing interactions between
adults and children in shelter.
- Communicate shelter rules and expectations to residents as outlined in the
shelter manual, the house expectations, and residency agreement. Promptly
address difficulties or problems that arise.
- Complete warnings, write-ups, and contracts in a timely manner.
-Model non-violent conflict resolution and use non-violent forms of guidance.
-Take appropriate steps to deal with emergency situations with the goal of
maintaining the safety of all residents as needed.
-Facilitate weekly support group.
-Participate in appropriate community meetings as approved by the Shelter
Coordinator.
-Maintain resident files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record keeping
as required.
