Current Sporting Goods Department Manager
November 1999 — Present
When I started their in 1999 I was hired as a cashier. Then over the holiday season that year I split my time as a cart pusher/cashier. Then the following summer I moved to the lawn and garden dept. I stayed their for a few years till I got my first department manager job in the toy dept. After that I was given the sporting goods department also. Then finally the gave me the Tire lube express and the Sporting goods department . I am responsible for making sure that these departments stay in compliance not only for Walmart but also federally especially sporting goods since we sell firearms but also withTLE because of waste oil, batteries and tires. My job is to manage the day to day operations of the shop and the employees who work in the shop and also deal with any customer questions or issues that arise regarding their vehicles. I enjoy jumping in and helping out when they need help in the shop we do whatever it takes to get are customers vehicles out and are customers happy. I am also the one who is responsible for making sure everything is federally compliant and files are kept organized for ATF 4473s. I have to receive and check in every gun that comes in are door and I also have to make sure every gun we sell that the paperwork is completed and is correct.
